the Calendar

The purpose of this website is to focus on issues of the faith which are foundational, determinative issues which the Bride of Messiah will have discovered for herself and applied to her life.

Even though 'the Calendar' is a subset of the greater element of faith, i.e 'the Covenant', I have given 'the Calendar' marquee lights on this site since it has been so completely ignored since the 4th Century C.E. that it's not even on most people's radar.

The significance of 'the Calendar' is so great that many, including myself, understand it to be either a facet of the mark of our Creator, Redeemer and soon coming King or a facet of 'the mark of the beast', it is a defining issue!

It is clear to me there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING held in common between today's Roman Catholic Gregorian calendar 'or' the Jewish calendar of Hillel II and 'the Calendar' of The Almighty which was placed in the heavens above.

I will also cause all her mirth to cease, Her feast days, Her New Moons, Her Sabbaths — All her appointed feasts. (Hosea 2:11)

The Lord has caused The appointed feasts and Sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion. In His burning indignation He has spurned the king and the priest. (Lamentations 2:6b)

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day. (Genesis 1:14-19)

At this point in time there is a worldwide movement to restore 'the Calendar' of YHWH.  There are naturally differences of opinion in the minds of men as to what constitutes truth in that restoration.

Living in exile (outside the land of Israel) we cannot keep the Annual Moedim of YHWH but we can commit ourselves here and now to keep them once we return to the land of Israel, they are part of the marriage ketubah given to Israel.  We can strive to know how and when to observe these Feasts and rehearse them at the appropriate time if it is our heart's desire to do so.

The Seventh Day Sabbath is another matter altogether.  Being the 4th Commandment of The 10 Words Covenant, which can be kept in the lands of exile, we must seek to understand how and when to keep this 'Sanctuary in Time'.

Being someone who is extremely serious about his faith in Messiah Yeshua I believe keeping the 7th Day Sabbath of YHWH to be a foundational element in my expression of love toward my Creator, Redeemer and soon coming King!  It is not to be taken lightly and cannot be discerned without understanding how and when to mark the beginning of our Months via the Moon.

I am a Lunar Sabbath keeper and most of us who understand Lunar Sabbath keeping to be true agree that the 1st Day of every month is not a 'work day' or a 'weekly Sabbath'.  Rather, it is the 1st of 3 classifications of monthly days known as Rosh Chodesh (Head of New Moon).  It is NEVER a work day or a Sabbath (Ezekiel 46:1).  Therefore the weekly Sabbaths ALWAYS fall on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th Days of every Lunar Cycle. Although debate rages on regarding which phase of the moon constitutes New Moon, I've left it all behind having come to know beyond a shadow of doubt 'The Scriptural Method' for determining New Moon Day, it's right there in Genesis 1:14 to 16! All we need to do is open our minds to the definitions of the words being translated into English!

I mark the beginning of each and every Day at Sunrise, that is such a common sense belief that it is frightening to have to consider that we must contend with such nonsense as a day beginning at midnight or sunset!

I have adopted the 1st Full Moon rising with it's Upper Limb above the Eastern Horizon 'AFTER' the Sun's Upper Limb has descended beneath the Western Horizon as the beacon of a New Month beginning with the next Sunrise.  Having set aside the endless debates of the historian's writings I see the Full Moon as the obvious choice as the best candidate for fulfilling the 'lesser of TWO GREAT LIGHTS' in Genesis 1:14-19.

I have also adopted the 1st Full Moon to rise AFTER the Vernal Equinox as the beacon for the beginning of the New Year.  I will write and share more articles on restoring 'the Calendar' in the future.

These are very important issues in our Master's economy, we will be judged accordingly!
