Now that you’ve watched 119 Ministries video ‘The Missing Silver Coin’ let’s reinforce a few facts. Luke 15 is all about repentance from beginning to end. The parable of the lost silver coin ends with verse 10 saying,

 

“I say to you, in the same way there is joy in the presence of the messengers of Elohim over one sinner repenting.” (Luke 15:10 The Scriptures 2009)

 

Obviously whatever the parable is saying to those who have ears to hear, it is related to repentance from sin.

 

The Lost Silver Coin parable is preceded in the chapter by the parable of the shepherd who had lost one of his 100 sheep, leaving the 99 to find the one that was lost. That parable concludes with verse 7 saying,

 

“I say to you that in the same way there shall be more joy in the heaven over one sinner repenting, than over ninety-nine righteous ones who need no repentance. (Luke 15:7 The Scriptures 2009)

 

Here again repentance is the theme.

 

The Lost Silver Coin parable is then followed by the parable of the prodigal son. That parable concludes with verse 32 saying,

 

“Then he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all I have is yours.

 

And we had to rejoice and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive, and was lost and is found.’” (Luke 15:31-32 The Scriptures 2009)

 

Here the thinly veiled resurrection narrative alludes to what it is to fall away from and then turn back to the Torah, i.e. teshuva, or repentance.

 

Those three parables make up the whole of the chapter and it is clear that repentance is the recurring, dominant theme. With that said it is easy to agree with 119 Ministries when they conclude from verse 8 in the parable of The Missing Silver Coin that the ‘woman’ represents the Bride of Messiah and that the ‘ten silver coins’ represent The Ten Words Covenant... i.e. The 10 Commandments...

 

“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she finds it?” (Luke 15:8 The Scriptures 2009)

 

And while it is also easy to agree with 119 Ministries that the ‘lost silver coin’ represents one of the commandments from The Ten Words Covenant it cannot be said in an absolutely conclusive way that the lost silver coin represents The 4th Commandment. That is left to the reader’s discernment, and as a Lunar Sabbath Observant believer I see both Sunday keeping Christianity and Saturday keeping Judaism in violation of The 4th Commandment, therefore it is easy for me to agree that the lost silver coin does indeed specifically represent The 4th Commandment.

 

To become The Bride of Messiah, i.e. the ‘woman’, each and every believer in Messiah Yeshua must be grafted into the natural olive tree, which is Israel (Romans 11). That includes the Jews who have been broken off from the natural olive tree. It is clear in Revelation 7:4 that the 144,000, which are to be sealed servants of Elohim and a ‘subset’ of The Bride of Messiah Yeshua, come from all 12 Tribes of the children of Israel.

 

And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of all the tribes of the children of Yisra’ĕl: (Revelation 7:4 The Scriptures 2009)

 

Furthermore, in Revelation 21 we see that the 12 gates into Yerushalayim, which is The Bride of Messiah, are named after the 12 Tribes of the children of Israel.

 

And one of the seven messengers who held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and spoke with me, saying, “Come, I shall show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.’ And he carried me away in the Sprit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the set-apart Yerushalayim, descending out of the heaven from Elohim, Having the esteem of Elohim, and her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal, and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written on them, which are those of the twelve tribes of the children of Yisra’ĕl: (Revelation 21:9-12 The Scriptures 2009)

 

It is very clear that the ‘woman’ who is The Bride of Messiah is composed of the 12 Tribes of Israel. Why is that important? Because the ‘woman’ of Luke 15:8, who has lost the silver coin which represents The 4th Commandment, includes the Jews of the Tribe of Judah who now keep Saturday as the Sabbath!

 

It is somewhat ironic that 119 Ministries appropriately went out of their way leading up to their breakdown of Luke 15:8-10 by emphasizing Matthew 25’s parable of the 10 Virgins that had ALL fallen asleep, they even repeated it a second time after their breakdown of Luke 15:8-10 just to drive the point home. Let me quote that set of verses...

 

“Then the reign of the heavens shall be compared to ten maidens who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

“And five of them were wise, and five foolish.

“Those who were foolish, having taken their lamps, took no oil with them,

but the wise took oil in their containers with their lamps.

“Now while the bridegroom took time, they all slumbered and slept.

“And at midnight a cry was heard, ‘See, the bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him!’

“Then all those maidens rose up and trimmed their lamps.

“And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’

“But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, indeed, there would not be enough for us and you. Instead, go to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

“And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.

“And later the other maidens also came, saying, ‘Master, Master, open up for us!’

“But he answering, said, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

“Watch therefore, because you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Adam is coming, (Matthew 25:1-13 The Scriptures 2009)

 

119 Ministries appropriately proclaimed the need for us ALL to WAKE UP! As a group of people who have come out of Sunday keeping Christianity 119 Ministries speaks inclusively when they say,

 

“So which of the ten coins, or 10 Commandments did we lose?”

 

But then, as though they have stepped outside the target zone of the parable’s warning by having switched to Saturday Sabbath observance 119 Ministries predictably commits one of the most common of human tendencies. When the Word of YHWH points out a fault with a particular group our human tendency is to think it is talking about someone other than ourselves! Instead of looking inwardly and heeding the warning personally we point the boney finger outwardly at someone else, after all, it couldn’t possibly be talking about us! Could it? After warning us that we ALL need to WAKE UP, 119 Ministries then regrettably makes this statement...

 

“Consider that most people that claim to be Christian or believers or in the faith observe 9 of the 10 Commandments but in fact ignore the 4th Commandment, the 4th coin.”

 

While the statement above is certainly true it falls far short of hitting the target. By not recognizing that the woman represents ALL 12 Tribes of Israel including the Jews of the Tribe of Judah and no longer heeding their very own warning that the virgin brides must ALL WAKE UP 119 Ministries ends up short sighting the warning of the parable of the missing silver coin believing they have already addressed this issue by having switched from the Sunday observance of Christianity to the Saturday observance of Judaism! The Saturday Sabbath delusion is so thoroughly embedded in the theology of most people who keep it that they foolishly rise above self-examination.What 119 Ministries has actually done by switching the pagan weekday of their worship is to jump from one frying pan to another! They remain dead center in the crosshairs of the parable! 119 Ministries reveal themselves, at least up to this point and time, as foolish virgins who fell asleep as Sunday observers who were then startled to the point of being half awake according to a nightmarish dream realizing Sunday was not the true day of worship. Without the leading of the Ruach HaQodesh they drew the HUGE ASSUMPTION that the Jews are keeping the 7th Day Sabbath and they need to keep Saturday just as the Jews do. They therefore changed their day of devotion to Saturday Sabbath and then fell right back to sleep! They remain the woman who has lost the silver coin, not yet having found it! Let’s hope and pray they do one day. Whether you ignore The 4th Commandment as Sunday keeping Christianity does or if you keep the false 7th Day Saturday of the Gregorian Calendar as your Sabbath, as Judaism does, makes little difference, you’re still keeping only 9 of the 10 Commandments! This is a reality that many, including myself, have lived. Regardless how many sacrifices that may have been made to switch to Saturday Sabbath observance, no matter how good the intentions are, the most that can be hoped for is that the sacrifices and good intentions are honored by YHWH and He eventually reveals to you that your heart’s desire to keep Saturday as the 7th Day Sabbath of YHWH is nothing more than a stepping stone to a greater truth! My personal story is just such a witness. Convicted of the need to keep the 7th Day Sabbath I quit an extremely good paying job in my area, and according to my skill set I knew I would never make that kind of money again, and I did it just so I could keep Saturday Sabbath not realizing that it was not ‘THE’ 7th Day Sabbath of YHWH. But all was not lost; YHWH honored my heart’s desire and revealed to me Lunar Sabbath observance 5 years after quitting that job! Most however, even after abandoning Sunday worship to keep Saturday Sabbath will remain within the parable’s target zone of having lost the silver coin of The 4th Commandment regarding 7th Day Sabbath observance. It’s only by the outpouring of the Ruach HaQodesh into the lives of the wise virgin Bride of Messiah Yeshua that we are able to see the delusion for what it is, a double deception that will trap most people who switch their day of devotion to YHWH from Sunday to Saturday, the false 7th Day of the pagan Gregorian calendar! Once a person makes the switch from Sunday to Saturday pride will become a player in the deception seeing as how most people will not be able to admit they made a mistake, that they’re wrong and have yet to find the lost silver coin of The 4th Commandment! And if you don’t overcome the double deception of Sunday vs. Saturday Sabbath observance then you were never the ‘woman’ of the Parable of the Lost Silver Coin in the first place seeing as how the ‘woman’ is diligent in searching for the lost silver coin, she’s an overcomer!  Overcoming the double deception will require a double dose of humility!

 

119 Ministries then goes on to dig their hole a whole lot deeper by quoting The 4th Commandment recorded in Deuteronomy 5...

 

Guard the Sabbath day, to set it apart, as YHWH your Elohim commanded you. Six days you labour, and shall do all your work, But the seventh day is a Sabbath of YHWH your Elohim. You do not do any work - you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, so that your male servant and your female servant rest as you do. And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Mitsrayim, and that YHWH your Elohim brought you out from there by a strong hand and by an outstretched arm. Therefore YHWH your Elohim commanded you to perform the Sabbath day. (Deuteronomy 5:12-15 The Scriptures 2009)

 

As a newlywed Saturday Sabbath promoting ministry, 119 Ministries remains blind to the fact that YHWH links His true 7th Day Sabbath to the 15th Day of the 1st Month via Deuteronomy 5:15 of The 4th Commandment! And although it is not sited in the video teaching on the missing silver coin by 119 Ministries The 4th Commandment as it is recorded in Exodus 20 also links the true 7th Day Sabbath to the 8th Day of the 1st Month of Creation! To have the Sabbath of YHWH linked to both the 8th and 15th days of the 1st Month each and every year is of course impossible on the Gregorian calendar, which the whole world follows after today! After the parable of the sower in Mark 4 Yeshua says,

 

And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” And when He was alone, those about Him, with the twelve, asked Him about the parable. And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the secret of the reign of Elohim, but to those who are outside, all are done in parables, so that ‘seeing they see but do not perceive, and hearing they hear but do not understand lest they should turn and their sins be forgiven them.’” (Mark 4:9-12 The Scriptures 2009)

 

You will never find a Scriptural topic where this warning rings more true than when it is in consideration of the true 7th Day Sabbath!

When it is all said and done, the few who constitute The Bride of Messiah Yeshua over the course of human history and especially just prior to His return, will come from many different walks of life. Even at the beginning of the chapter it is noted that Yeshua is there speaking to tax collectors, sinners, the Pharisees and Scribes. So when 119 Ministries singles out Sunday keeping Christianity as those who lose and then find the lost silver coin, i.e. Saturday as though it is the true 7th Day Sabbath observance, they make an ill-considered leap and reach an unjustified conclusion falling far short of landing safely! Yeshua was speaking to tax collectors, sinners, the Pharisees and Scribes and from whom and where do they come? Yeshua spoke the parable as He stood in the land of Israel; those who heard His words were Jews, each and every one of them! The parable is prophetic and did not apply to the day in which the Jewish people heard Yeshua speak these words with their own ears. It was a prophecy that the Jewish people and all the people who would come to know Messiah Yeshua and keep The Master of the Sabbath’s Sabbath, i.e. the true 7th Day Sabbath as the day for worshipping YHWH, whether Jewish or gentile, would eventually lose it and it didn’t take long! That point unequivocally denies Saturday as having ever been the true 7th Day Sabbath of YHWH!

 

119 Ministries appeals to it’s viewers with 2 Timothy 4:1-4...

 

In the sight of Elohim and the Master Yeshua Messiah, who shall judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His reign, I earnestly charge you’ Proclaim the Word! Be urgent in season, out of season. Convict, warn, appeal, with all patience and teaching. For there shall be a time when they shall not bear sound teaching, but according to their own desires, they shall heap up for themselves teachers tickling the ear, and they shall indeed turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4:1-4 The Scriptures 2009)

 

However, in spite of their warning, 119 Ministries become the very teachers who tickle the ear, they become the very thing they warn against in that they themselves proclaim the myth of a Saturday Sabbath! Another myth 119 Ministries proclaimed was that the Sabbath was defined according to Scripture as being from sundown-to-sundown. Nothing could be further from the truth. They make this claim without providing a shred of Scriptural evidence for it. The reason they don’t provide the Scriptural evidence for such a claim is because a sundown-to-sundown Sabbath is a Jewish tradition, not a Scriptural definition! Actually, quite the contrary is true, Scripture unequivocally teaches that each and every day begins at sunrise and ends at sunrise and the set-apart hours of the Sabbath when no work is to be done are from sunrise to sunset. 119 Ministries is a ministry that rightly encourages everyone to ‘test everything’ as per 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21...

 

Do not despise prophecies. Instead, test everything. Hold on to what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 ISV)

 

I have followed that directive, I have indeed decided to ‘test everything’ taking nothing for granted, making no assumptions and in doing so I have found 119 Ministries video teaching on ‘The Missing Silver Coin’ to be in grievous error. Although I like much of what 119 Ministries has to offer in the way of teachings, this particular teaching on the missing silver coin is a classic example of why no one should ever ‘open wide and swallow deep’ the teachings of any single ministry as a whole from one end of the spectrum to the other without first ‘testing everything’!

 

If the prophetic parable was spoken to the Jews, which it was, and the Jews have always kept Saturday, as they do today, then the parable would be devoid of meaning, or to use a phrase 119 Ministries used, the parable would be “meaningless noise” to the Jews of today. But use of the ‘woman’ in the parable demands the inclusion of the Jews of the Tribe of Judah as one of the 12 Tribes of the children of Israel who have indeed lost a silver coin. If the Jews have always kept Saturday Sabbath they would obviously never have lost the silver coin and there would be no need for them to search diligently to find the silver coin representing The 4th Commandment. The only way for the prophetic parable to make any sense today is for the Jews in the day of Messiah Yeshua to have kept a different 7th Day Sabbath than they do today! That, and the fact that the prophecy is yet to this day, for all intents and purposes, still unfulfilled as the Jews continue to keep Saturday as their day of worship contrary to earlier historical observation of the true 7th Day Sabbath. The Jews of the Tribe of Judah have for the most part failed to even recognize that they have lost the silver coin and have need to search diligently for it. It is through articles like this that I hope the consciousness of the Jewish people can be stirred to action and it may well be that the eyes, ears and minds of the Jewish people along with many other people from many other nations are beginning to be opened. Fulfillment of the prophetic parable is now underway but still in it’s infancy, there are a few believers in Messiah Yeshua, including Jews no doubt, who have abandoned Saturday as the 7th Day Sabbath of YHWH. They are realizing they have lost one of their ten silver coins, have lit a lamp and have diligently swept the house attempting to find the lost silver coin. And let me tell you... when those who are having their eyes, ears and minds opened finally find the true 7th Day Sabbath governed by the Full Moon, just as Genesis 1:14-16, Exodus 20:8-11, Leviticus 23:1-3, Deuteronomy 5:12-15, Psalm 81:3, Psalm 104:19, Ezekiel 46:1, Revelation 12:1 and several others would have us believe, there is great rejoicing amongst those who have drawn similar conclusions. I look forward to the day when I can know experientially what Yeshua is talking about when He says,

 

“I say to you, in the same way there is joy in the presence of the messengers of Elohim over one sinner repenting.” (Luke 15:10 The Scriptures 2009)

 

Although I can’t yet speak to the ‘joy in the presence of the messengers of Elohim’, I can tell you how much joy I experienced just the other day when a dear, dear woman, 89 years old and beloved of many, who remains as sharp as a tack, but living in a Veteran’s Home in Texas messaged me and said she had read all 17 Parts to ‘THE MASTER’S CLOCK!’ and she wants to keep the 7th Day Sabbath like I do! She had realized as a Saturday Sabbath keeper she was one silver coin short of the 10 her Bridegroom had given her, she responded by lighting a lamp and sweeping her house diligently seeking the silver coin she had lost and today she rejoices having found it... she has discovered once and for all The True 7th Day Sabbath of The 4th Commandment! For being the inspiration she is, this article is dedicated to her!
